Hi Mavis,
How about Wednesday at one ish. Do you have a favorite pizza place. If not, I know of one just off Main with a funny name. I can never remember it but it is wonderful and organic. What is your favorite pizza? Do you want another dish to go with it?.I will make sure that no broccoli is served. They make a wonderful vegetarian if that is of interest. Please send me your address or call me at 937-6016. Mavis, I am so excited to be able to visit with you.. I feel like I am coming to visit my sister. We are
going to be great friend dear Mavis.
Anna
I know the place, but I can’s spell it. ANY pizza would be great, but it’s Italian sausage that I crave and a small salad cause they do them right. Please call for directions. OK? 964-9459.
Mavis
My dear Mavis,
I would love to take you to lunch. How about it? I’ll pick you up and we can spend some sweet time together getting acquainted. You pick the day, time and place.
Incidentally, I am piqued by the title of your book, “Getting Lucky at Eighty”
I love it! Bring one with you and I will buy it. Let’s don’t wait too long to meet for lunch. My time is your time so make it easy on yourself.
Anna Morland
Anna, how about bringing lunch to my house? I’m on a schedule that makes lunch happen after 1:00 pm. Mon thru Wed would work fine for me. I get a hankering for pizza that never gets resolved since I seldom go out anymore. I eat everything except brocolli. So let me know when.
Mavis
Dear Mavis,
Being new on the Mendocino Coast, and also a realtor, I have been intrigued by your photo displayed and your name. My sister was named Mary Mavis also and lovingly called Mavis..and was a red headed beauty as were all my siblings. You greatly resemble my sisters. And we also come from a long line of Scot/Irish farmers in Arkansas. You are quite beautiful in your 80’s and must have been a knock out in your younger years. I’ve read your blog and was touched deeply by the depth of your spirit. Take care of yourself and know that you are greatly loved and appreciated in this wonderful community. I wish I had known you…but there is still time to do so. Perhaps our paths will cross as I hope to meet you one day Mavis. May God continue to hold you close to Him in these coming days and years.
Anna
Oh, my! What a glorious review. I hope or paths DO cross.
Hello Ms. Mathews,
I was trying to find the Mavis Mathews that wrote a letter, back in 1966, to a Dr.Nirenberg. Are you this person??
I apologize, in advance, if you are not and i’m disturbing you.
Agape
No, Lawrence, I am not that Mavis. Sorry. Good luck in your quest.
Hello, Mavis! My name is Tyane Boye, and I’m Terrie Beltrami’s daughter who lives in Texas. I have ordered your Kindle book and look forward to reading it.
Have enjoyed looking at your site and find you a most intriguing person! Many faceted!
I have also written a small book (The Sunday TYM.E.S.) which is also on Kindle and am in the process of working with another author on a larger book which we hope to publish the old school way.
Mom has told me of your struggles and I want you to know that I am praying for you. God bless!
Tyane
Thanks so much. What a nice boost for my day!
Mavis you are an inspiration and an awesome woman.
May you have the most blessed and happy holiday season.
Thank you for thinking of me.
